Abstract

The present study aims to examine children’s rights from the perspective of the Qur’an and Prophetic traditions (peace be upon him) and to clarify the essential principles for their upbringing. The objectives of the research are to identify the multiple and diverse rights of children, including their entitlement to a dignified and peaceful life, proper naming, access to necessities such as housing, clothing, and lawful food, as well as the right to beneficial facilities and proper education. Furthermore, the study seeks to explore the moral and ethical development of children by emphasizing the cultivation of virtuous traits and protection from harmful behaviors such as lying, deceit, theft, jealousy, and ill-will toward others. The results indicate that Islam comprehensively safeguards children’s rights both before and after birth, emphasizing the protection and proper upbringing of children at all stages of life. Awareness of these rights enables individuals and society to act according to Islamic principles, thereby preventing various shortcomings in the treatment of children. In conclusion, the detailed explanations of children’s rights in the Qur’an and Prophetic traditions guide that, when implemented, ensure their full recognition, protection, and practical application in society.
