Closed diaphyseal fractures of the radius and ulna are among the most common fractures of the upper extremity in adults. Inadequate treatment may lead to complications such as malunion, restricted wrist and elbow joint motion, and decreased limb function. Open Reduction and Internal Fixation (ORIF) is considered one of the most effective surgical approaches for restoring limb function and enabling patients to return to daily activities. This study was designed as a retrospective descriptive case series conducted in the Orthopedic Department of a regional teaching hospital during the year 1403 (Solar Hijri). The objective of this research was to evaluate the clinical outcomes and potential complications associated with the treatment of closed diaphyseal fractures of the radius and ulna in adults using plate fixation. The primary evaluation criteria included fracture union time, range of joint motion, recovery of functional ability, and the occurrence of postoperative complications such as infection, delayed union, and nonunion. The findings demonstrated that the majority of patients achieved complete fracture union within 10–14 weeks and regained an acceptable range of motion. The complication rate was low and, in most cases, manageable with appropriate intervention. Based on the study results, most fractures occurred in male patients, the majority of cases were referred from within the city, most injuries involved the right side, and most patients were treated using internal fixation with plates. This study indicates that plate fixation is a reliable and effective method for managing closed diaphyseal fractures of the radius and ulna in adults, leading to functional improvement and a reduction in long-term complications
